Daily planner pages

In my recent video, I am showing you my 'day planner' section with section divider and pages for scheduling those busy days. When my day is less busy I am just using the 'weekly planner'. I like the fact that my planner inserts are undated, so I can use this day planner, on days I really need it. Since I became a mum, I appreciate the undated planner pages so much more.

My inspiration - Henri Matisse

Today I would like to show you some of my favourite paintings by Henri Matisse, a famous French artist. I love his use of colour (one of the things he was famous for) as well as the joy of life oozing from his art. His work lifts my mood instantly. I have visited his studio in Nice, South France and it was a remarkable experience.

How to print planner inserts correctly

Having printed my inserts lots of times, there comes a moment when you get a new printer and all the settings you successfully used no longer work. This is why I have decided to tell you about few basic settings that you should be aware of, in order to print your inserts correctly.

First of all, you may have two different PDF files. The first one contains the exact dimensions of your planner page and it takes time and quite few trials before you can print it correctly. By correctly, I mean that your printer will print the file with no white border around, meaning your file will print 100% exactly as the PDF shows.

Unfortunately, this is the more complicated option because, with some printers, however many times you try, they keep on inserting the bleed area (the white border) cutting off a bit of your image from your PDF file.

If this is what your printer does, to solve this issue, I have now started adding extra 5mm bleed to all my PDF files. This way, your file will never be cut off and you can easily print it on an A4 or USL size paper, then trim following the guideline. If you want to print the A5 sizes straight onto an A5 paper size, I now also include an extra file with no bleed.

Now, take a look at the very basic instructions I am using for my Epson 8500 printer, when printing the A4 centred files.

If your printer prints too dark, just go to 'colour options', then 'manual setting' and move the slide up a bit (I usually print at number 7).

These settings work great for me but unfortunately, they won't work for everyone, so you need to take some time, test your printer and then make sure to write down your preferred settings.

New planner dashboards in my Etsy shop and Atelier News

I hope you have been enjoying the New Year. January has gone by pretty fast. It is only the beginning of February, but already, I am noticing some flowers in bloom on my walks. It fills me with spring-like happiness, I am so ready for this new season.

I have been saving all your requests for new designs and because many of you wanted planner dashboards, I have started adding them to my shop. Unfortunately, they took quite a long time to make, taking me away from creating new art, so I have decided to offer them in a digital format. Now you can just download many, beautiful designs in the comfort of your own home.

I am yet to list the beautiful new, dot grid and plain sketchbooks. They are extremely limited so be sure to catch them quick if you like them.

Also, I plan on creating a new travel planner. Way larger then the small section in our planners. It will come with sections for maps, packing, itineraries, daily and weekly planners, tickets, mementos, postcards, journalling, future travels and many more. As you can imagine, with this planner, you will leave your everyday planner at home, taking only your travel planner on your holiday.

On a personal note, I am looking forward to my Provence holiday in March, where I will get lots of new inspiration, welcome the new season and hopefully still catch Mimosa in bloom. :) I'll be sure to have the Travel Planner ready before then, and right in time for your summer holiday. :)

Hope you like all the new designs. Don't hesitate to contact me with any ideas for your planners. :)

till next time
