Weekly market shopping

shopping-list-refills

Depending on, where you are in the Mediterranean, your grocery shopping revolves around market days. Once a month, I stock up our kitchen cupboards with things like raw buckwheat, quinoa, rice, amaranth, teff, beans, lentils etc.., so the things we buy at the market are just herbs, fruits and vegetables, honey, as well as flowers.

We love seeing our favourite sellers every week, talk about their produce and what's in season; smell the herbs and spices, often to the sound of other people exchanging recipes, tips, smiles and general good mood. If I happen to arrive on a bike and buy too much, they drop all our shopping off at our home when the market day ends.

My earliest memory is buying kilograms of strawberries or cherries at the market stalls in Poland, as well as bread, fresh fish, flowers and biscuits.

When I am up north in England, I continue market shopping. However, I mostly buy online, straight from the farm. The big box of goodness, is then delivered to our home on a particular day of the week. What follows next is usually a bowl full of fresh salad leaves with steamed vegetables, avocado and ground hemp seeds. Oh, so yummy!

The flower market in Nice, South France, inspired this planner refill 'shopping list' (above), and is available in my Etsy shop Patricia Atelier. It fits the A5 and Personal planners. You can also download this free printable (below) and stick it onto your fridge or just carry it in your purse.
